Croy, Augusta and Neva

Sisters Augusta and Neva Croy, taken in Bellefontaine at Neva's house

Bellefontaine, OH, in the yard of 509 N. Detroit St.

Neva and Gussie lived in different states for most of their lives. After their father was killed while building a railroad bridge, Neva (who was an infant at the time) went back to Ohio with her mother, while Gussie, who was quite a bit older, chose to stay in Missouri with other relatives. They remained in touch by mail and telephone, but only occasionally visited each other.
