John Stillings & Others to Deed Henry Grimes
Know all men by these presents that John Stillings & Elizabeth Stillings his wife of the county of Hardin, state of Ohio & George Stillings & Jane M Stillings his wife, & Thomas Stillings & Somelia Stillings his wife of the county of Union and state of Ohio, in consideration of the sum of five hundred seventy four and 16/100 dollars to them paid by Henry Grimes of Union County, Ohio the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey to the said Henry Grimes and his heirs and assigns forever the following real estate situated in the county of Union in the state of Ohio and in the Virginia Military District and survey no. 2875 and bounded and described as follows, viz.:
Beginning at a large stone north east corner to said Survey no. 2875 thence with the easterly line of said survey S36 deg E 51 40/100 poles to stone, thence S 54 1/2 deg W 32 60/100 poles to a stone in the center of a road. Thence with the center of said road N 11 1/2 deg W 32 poles to a stone northeasterly corner to a lot of land this day conveyed to Timothy Magill, thence with his northerly line S 52 1/8 deg W 141 poles to a large stone northwesterly corner to said Timothy Magill, and in the easterly line of Abigail Poling. Thence with said line N 36 1/2 deg W 30 poles to a stone in the center of said road and southwesterly corner to Survey no. 3748. Thence with the southerly line of said survey N 54 1/8 deg E 10 poles to the beginning, containing 30 acres more or less.
To have and to hold said premises with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Henry Grimes and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Stillings, George Stillings & Thomas Stillings for themselves and their heirs do hereby covenant with the said Henry Grimes and his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid, that the said premises are free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoeever, and that they will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenaces unto the said Henry Grimes and his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
In witness thereof whereof the said George Stillings & Thomas Stillings and Jane M Stillings and Somelia Stillings their wives, and John Stillings & Elizabeth Stillings his wife who hereby relinquish their right of Dower in the premises, hereunto set their hands and seals this 17th day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Sixty Nine.

Note: Survey no. 2875 was for 1000 acres, originally deeded to Samuel Wallace for the services of his ancestor Adam Wallace, a captain for three years in the Virginia Continental Line. It was deeded under President Andrew Jackson on 10 April 1837.
