VIRGINIA M. "GINNY" ALEXANDER GRIMES
Virginia M. "Ginny" Alexander Grimes, 72, of Marysville died Wednesday,
July 14, 2004, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She retired in 1980 after 19 years of service with the Nestle Company.
She was a member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church and was
a former coach, scorekeeper and player with the Stocksdale Dollarettes.
She was a devoted and loving grandmother who was very active and
involved with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She
inspired many with her unselfishness and caring.
She was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Marysville to the late Everett L. and
Freidabelle Baker Alexander Sr. and was predeceased by a daughter, Lori
Jane, and two brothers, Everett L. Alexander Jr. and Robert E.
Alexander.
She is survived by her husband, Loren E. "Shine" Grimes whom she married
Aug. 3, 1951, at the Marysville First United Methodist Church; two
daughters, Lynn (Glen) Heard of Raymond and Lisa (Duane) Miller of
Urbana; a son, Larry (Sherri) Grimes of West Mansfield; grandchildren,
Jason Heard, Jodi Sheets, David and Shane James, Lucas, Lance, Levi and
Lauren Grimes; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Walker and Lincoln Heard and
Shelby and Gracie Mae Sheets; step-grandchildren, Keisha Hunt and Kris
Gilbert; step-great-grandchildren, Maddy and Macey Hunt and Dante
Gilbert; a sister, Mary (Clarence) Snodgres of Marysville; a brother,
John (Cheryl) Alexander of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Kay Alexander of
Marysville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Marysville First
United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scot Ocke will officiate and burial
will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. Sunday at the Ingram Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Grimes, Jason Heard, David James, Shane James,
Lucas Grimes and Lance Grimes. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Grimes,
Andy Sheets, Glen Heard and Duane Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Cancer Society or
American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
