Obituary of Howard Eugene Grimes from the Columbus Dispatch of June 29, 2003
GRIMES Howard E. Grimes, 84, of Unionville Center, Ohio, died Friday evening at Memorial Hospital of Marysville. He was retired from Eljers Plumbingware and an active member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church. A former Boy Scout Master of 25 years of Troop #125 in Unionville and active in Masonic organizations. Born April 9, 1919 in Union County to the late Ralph J. and Melvina J. Shaw Grimes. He married the former Mildred Cooperider March 21, 1943 by the Rev. Hugh Liggett at the Unionville Center United Methodist Church. She survives as do their children, Laurinda J. (Jim) Caudill of Unionville Center, Charles R. "Chuck" (Jenny Kaye) Grimes of Jamestown, Judy Sweeney of Orange, CA; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, James W. (Louise) Grimes of Columbus, Loren W. "Shine" (Virginia) Grimes of Marysville. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the INGRAM FUNERAL HOME, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Court and 6th Sts., Marysville, with Revs. Scot Oche and Richard Teller officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Marysville. Masonic service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
