Bryson, Margaret (Obituary)

abstracted obituary of Margaret Bryson. Transcribed from a copy of the Tibbles family tree, original source unknown.

OBITUARY

Margaret Bryson Tibbles was born at Amesville, Athens County, Ohio, November 13, 1818; died at 5:30 AM Sunday, April 23, 1899, at her home in Grant City, Missouri after an illness of but three days. The funeral was preached in the home by Rev. Hicks and burial took place in the Grant City cemetery Monday.

The deceased was married to Jacob Tibbles in 1837, seven children being born to them, all of whom survive. She moved from Ohio to Grant City in 1870. She united with the Methodist church at the age of 13 years and ever after lived a consistent, Christian life.

For the love of her country she gave her sons for the service of the government in the dark days of the civil strife, laboring with a light heart and willing hands in the fields to support those at home, her husband having died several years earlier.

She was the mother of our fellowtownsman T.C. Tibbles.
