Grimes - Henry Grimes, son of William and Nancy Grimes, was born at Rosebury, West Virginia, June 13th, 1821. Died August 11th, 1894, aged 73 years, 1 month and 28 days.
He was married to Miss Mary Howard, in April, 1846, to which marriage was was born five children - three boys and two girls. he moved with his family from West Virginia in January, 1869, and has since lived on his farm in Allen Township, Union County, Ohio. He became a member of the Methodist church early in life and kept the faith till the end, and always attended church until his affliction prevented him.
He leaves a widow and three sons to mourn their loss.
His funeral was held at the Mt. Zion U.B. Zion. A large number of friends and relatives were in attendance to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed. The funeral sermon was preached by the writer from I Corinthians 15:55, after which all that which was mortal of Father Grimes was tenderly laid away in Oakdale Cemetery to await the resurrection of the Just.

Henry Grimes, an aged resident of Allen township, died Saturday night of dropsy, having been a great sufferer of that disease for some time. He was seventy-three years old. The funeral was held Monday and interment was made at Oakdale.

Some of the older people of this neighborhood attended the funeral of Mr. Grimes, at Mt. Zion, last Monday.

We learn through H.W. Morey & Co., who had charge of the funeral that Mr. Henry Grimes, of Allen Township died suddenly Saturday night aged 70 years. He had arisen from his bed to obey a call of nature and upon returning died without a struggle or warning. He was dropsical and to this is attributed his death. The remains were interred in Oakdale Monday afternoon.
