James Grimes, aged 55 years, died Wednesday evening at his home in Allen Township, five miles west of Marysville just off the Bellefontaine pike, from a long illness of a complication of diseases. He had been failing in health for the past three years, but was able to be up until the day he died, and took a ride to Pottersburg by himself Monday, although in a very weak condition.

March 16, 1888, Mr. Grimes was united in marriage with Miss Mary Stoll, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stoll, of Allen township, who survives him with the following children, all of whom reside at the parental home: Ralph, Elva, Fred, Walter, and Earl. Mr. Grimes' parents both died a number of years ago, and he has no brothers or sisters living.

Funeral services held Friday at the residence at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A.A. Burroughs, of Marion. Interment in Oakdale.
