CARROLL TURNER FOUND HANGING IN SHEEP BARN
Funeral services for Carroll Raymond Turner, 34, a Monday suicide victim, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Faulkner funeral home.
Turner, 117 1/2 E. Fifth St. resident, was found hanging in a Union County fairgrounds sheep barn about 6 p.m. Monday.
Official verdict of suicide by hanging was made by Dr. Charles E. Bolinger, county coroner.
The body was found by Hysel Caldwell, Marysville, who was riding his motorcycle through the grounds when he saw the body swinging in the sheep barn opening, Sheriff Walter Galloway reported.
A veteran of World War II, Turner had been employed as a foundryman at the Eljer Diecast plant until Aug. 15.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, recently injured in an auto accident, and released yesterday from Union Memorial Hospital; a daughter, Carol Jean, at home; his father Benjamin H. Turner, Cherry st.; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Moore and Mrs. Mildred Neibler, both of Marysville; and a brother, Eugene, of Marion.
Turner was born April 20, 1922 in Paris township. His mother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home. Services by the Rev. E.F. Dana will be followed by interment in Oakdale Cemetery.
