MARY JOSEPHINE WARD
Mary Josephine Ward, 85, of Marion died Wednesday, March 8, 1995 at the Americare Nursing Center in Marion.
She was a homemaker and worked 10 years in the laundry department of Marion General Hospital. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren in Marion.
She was born in Marysville on Jan. 11, 1910, to the late Harrison and Ethel Mae Thomas Shaw. She married John Francis Ward on Jan. 3, 1928, and he died Dec. 28, 1968. She was also predeceased by four brothers.
She is survived by three sons, John J. Ward and Samuel C. Ward, both of Marion, and and Charles R. Ward of Ocean Ridge, Fla.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lester Shaw of Webster, Fla., Harry Shaw of Norwalk and Paul Shaw of East Liberty; and three sisters, Bessie McKee of Columbus, Lillian Lake of Harlan, Ind., and Glenna Neal of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Home, 347 W. Center St. in Marion. The Rev. Cynthia Peel will officiate and interment will be at the Claibourne Cemetery.
