rysville, died Saturday, Jan. 26, at Memorial Hospital of Union County after a one-year battle with cancer. He was 62 years old.

He is survived by wife Diane (Cook) Grimes to whom he was married on Dec. 30, 1982. Also surviving are four sons, Michael of Tampa, Fla., Tom of St. Petersburg, Fla., Tim of Atlantic Beach, N.C., and Patrick of Largo, Fla.; one daughter, Kathleen Robbins of Largo, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Michele Oravetz, Kristin Perry and Jennifer Perry, all of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Harold and Loren "Shine" Grimes, both of Marysville; Howard of Unionville Center and Jim of Columbus and one sister, Mary Shaw of Urbana.

He travelled much of his lifetime with the United States Air Force Reserve, in which he served for 30 years before his retirement. He returned to Marysville two and one-half years ago.

He was an employee of Country Acres Greenhouse, a member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church, the VFW Post 3320; he served in the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services were held at the Marysville First United Methodist Church; burial was in Oakdale Cemetery with military services. Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home handled arrangements.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Union County Cancer Society.
