MRS. GRIMES PASSED AWAY
WEST FOURTH STREET LADY DIED YESTERDAY AFTER ILLNESS OF SEVERAL MONTHS
Mrs. Melvina J. Grimes, 52, of 826 West Fourth Street, died yesterday morning at eleven o'clock at her home after having been in ill health since April.
She was born in Union county on November 9, 1895 to Jacob W. and Inez (Green) Shaw and on September 26, 1915 in Marysville was married to Ralph Grimes, who survives. Mrs. Grimes was a member of the English Lutheran church and a charter member of the Blue Star Mothers.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Shaw of Urbana; five sons, Harold of Bellefontaine, Howard of Unionville Center, James of Marysville, Ralph, Jr., and Loren at home and two grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Claude Forsythe and the Rev. George Dittmar on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in the Lee funeral home. Interment will be in Oakdale cemetery in charge of William Lee. Friends may call at the funeral home after seven o'clock this evening.
