JAMES G. WELCH

James G. Welch, 87, 20825 Peoria-Loop Rd., Raymond, a retired carpenter and brick mason, died Saturday, Sept. 8, at Memorial Hospital after a five year illness.

He was born Oct. 25, 1891, in Union County, to George and Amanda (Carey) Welch, who preceded him in death, and he was a lifetime resident of the Marysville area.

On Aug. 12, 1958 he married Mary (Sarver) Lockwood, who survives, and he was previously married to Imo Thompson who preceded him in death in 1953. He was a member of the Peoria Methodist Church.

Also surviving are five sons Lester, Marysville; Edgar, Lantana, Fla.; George, Huron; Chester and Robert, Raymond; three stepsons Jacob Lockwood, Marysville; Blaine Lockwood, Marysville;John Lockwood, Bellefontaine; and two stepdaughters Ola Southerly, Richwood; and Mary Kesterson, Marysville.

He is survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. James Ermil (Edna) Cooley, Marysville; and a brother, Ray Welch, Marysville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Postle-Hale Funeral Home with the
