EVAN SHAW DIED TUESDAY

Evan T. Shaw, a well-known resident of the Blue settlement, died at noon Tuesday.

Mr. Shaw's death was caused from Bright's disease, with which he had been afflicted about two years. He was in his seventieth year.

The deceased was born Dec. 8, 1840, in Maryland, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Shaw, to Union county at the age of four years. He leaves a widow, who, previous to her marriage was Maria J. Coder; also nine children, as follows: Martha Grauman and Harrison Shaw, of Marysville; Arthur Shaw, Anna Daugherty, Jacob Shaw, Eva and George Shaw, of Liberty township; Mary Blue, of Taylor township, and Jennie Bonham, of Magnetic Springs.

There are also three brothers and two sisters who survive, Morgan Shaw, Oliver Shaw, Amanda Beard and Mary Knotts, all of Union county, and Hutchins Shaw, of Sumner, Ill.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 Friday in the Union church, on the Peoria Road, with the Friends minister, Rev. Brown, of Columbus, officiating.
